AHUNAVAD GÂTHÂ
YASNA XXIX
ASHA
[Zarathustra spoke thus :]
I.
To You, O
Mazda, and
to 
ASHA, the Soul of our
people
did cry aloud :
"For Whom did
You create
me?"
II.
And
ASHA, as
the
Divine Order,
gave answer
through His Sanctity : " Mazda
did 
create you : by and for the inspired
Word-of-reason, the Divine
Order of
ASHA, which 
is
consenting with
Him* in His every 
Deed !
*[Zarathustra, the perfect Ashavan, who lives to be as perfect as his Heavenly
Father; as our example and the reflection on earth of Ahura Mazda, that is what
Asha declares here, in answer to the suffering creation !]
YASNA XXVIII
I
A
strengthening
blessing is the
Thought, a
blessing is
the Word, a
blessing is
the Deed of
the great
Zarathustra."
[And Zarathustra spoke thus :]
II
May the Immortal
Ahuras accept and prosper the
Invocations
as
Homage to
You, O Sacred
ASHA !
III
And therefore, O great
Creator !
inspired by
Your Benevolent
Mind, do I
approach You and
beseech
You to grant
me - as a
bountiful gift, for both the
Worlds ( the
corporeal one and that of the
mind ),
all those
attainments that can be derived from the Divine
Order of ASHA
!
IV
O You, Cosmic
Order ! And
You, Universal
Mind, Infinite
Intelligence
!
I will
worship
You and
Ahura Mazda, because of
Whom the
Creative Mind
within us is causing the Imperishable
Kingdom to
progress
!
V
So long as
I will be able and
have
the
power, so long will
I
teach the
people about these
Deeds they
should
do with
faith toward
Mazda, and out of
desire for the
coming of the Cosmic
Order of
ASHA : into their
Souls
and their
Bodies.
VI
And You, O Cosmic
Order of
ASHA, when shall
I
see You, knowing
that the Creative
Mind and
Obedience to
the
Law are the
way
to reach the most
beneficent
Ahura Mazda ?
VII
And You, O
Mazda ! O
Great
Creator !
please do come to
me, with Your
Creative
Mind ! And
You, Who
do bestow
gifts through
Your Cosmic
Order,
please do bestow
Long-lasting gifts upon us too, and that
this Life may
be spent
aright !
VIII
O You
, do please, by
means of Your lofty
Words,
bestow Your powerful
spiritual help upon
your servant
Zarathustra,
and upon
his Ashavans too !
IX
The Best of All
gifts,
therefore, do I
beseech of
You, O
You,
Best of all Beings,
Ahura Mazda
! You Who are One in
Will
with Your
Cosmic Law !
X
And,
impressed and
moved by
these
gifts of
strengthening
power which
we hope You
may
give
us, in answer to these
Invocations :
may
we
never make
You angry, O
Ahura Mazda !
nor Your
Cosmic
Order within us, nor yet, Your Creative
Mind, for
we have
earnestly
made
effort in helping to prosper
Your Cause !
XI Yea,
I do
approach
You, with
all my
Invocations :
I, who will
use
these great
gifts of
power, to
protect
Your Cosmic
Order and Your Creative
Mind
that are within us,
forever !
XII
And
You,
O
Ahura Mazda, do
teach
me therefore, from
Your Own
Mouth of Spirit, that
I may
declare it
forth to Your waiting
people : by
which
powers and
according to which
Laws Your
Cosmic
Order has risen !
YASNA XXX
I
And now
I will
proclaim the
praises which are
for the
Ahuras, and
the practices
which
spring from the
Good Mind, II
and
likewise the benignant
meditations,
which are
inspired by
ASHA. And I
pray that
propitious results from it may be seen in the
Living Light [= Righteous human beings]
.
III
Do hear
then,
people, with your
ears ! Take a close look at the
Living Flames,
with the eyes of the
Better Mind. IV
It is the individual
choice of man by
man, which
everyone has to make for himself, whether he will
recognize the great impulse of the
cause of
ASHA and follow it, or not !
V
Do
Awake,
you
all, to our
Teachings ! For the
primeval spirits are, just like a
pair, combining their
opposite strivings, though they 
each are independent in their
action.
VI
They
are
in fact
: a
Better Thing, and a
worse, as to
Thought, as to
Word, as to
Deed.
VII
Let
the
wisely acting
person,
therefore, make the
right choice Between
these
two:
do not choose for the same as the
evil-doers do !
VIII
Yea ! When the
two spirits came
together at the very first, to
make
Life, and the
absence of
Life, IX
and to
determine how the
world at the last shall be
ordered : then it was decided that for the
wicked the
worst life will be, and for the
Good : the
Best State of Mind !
X
Then, when They had finished :
Each
His part, in the
Deeds of Creation,
They
chose distinctly : Each His own separate
Realm. XI
He who was the
evil of
the two chose
evil, but the
ever
Bounteous Spirit chose the
Cosmic Order ; and
He
chose, likewise,
those who
content the
Ahuras with
actions which are performed
truly
in
accordance with
ASHA.
XII
Then the
Sovereign
Power, The
Good Mind, and the
Cosmic Order came.
XIII
And may
we
be
like the ones who bring on the
great renovation, and make this
world
progressive ; may
we
be
like them ! XIV
And when
Perfection shall have been
attained,
then the
blow of destruction shall fall upon
Falsehood, and
her
adherents shall
perish with her. XV
But
in the
swiftest possible way the
Ashavans : they who
proceed in their walk upon
Earth
according to
ASHA, shall gather in the happy abode of the
Good Mind, and of
the Ahuras .
YASNA XXXI
I
These
Teachings do we earnestly
declare to you, as we
recite them forth from
memory :
words, which were unheard until now.
II
And
if by
this means the indubitable
Truths are not
recognized in the
Soul, then, as
better than Words, [Ahura Mazda promised]
:
"
I will
come to you all in
My person" - with that
same
power and in that
very
way,
as
Ahura
Mazda also
knows and appoints His
followers, in order that
we, in obedience
to
Him, may live
according to
ASHA.
III
And that
keenness, O
Ahura Mazda,
that
discerning satisfaction which
You have
given, in Your
Spirit and Your Holy
Fire, and by
Your
Righteousness towards the Two
opposing forces, please, do
declare this to us : the
vow
which is that for
awakened souls.
IV
And
when the
Spirit of the
Cosmic Order shall be
inclined toward
my
appeal, and with
Him, all of
the Ahuras of
Mazda, V
then, with
the
blessedness of the
gift, and
with Your
Best Mind, which is active within
me, I will
pray for that mighty
Kingdom of
ASHA, by the
force of Whom we may
smite
evil.
VI
Aye, will You please
reveal it unto
me, that I may
perceive it, since
by giving us Your
Cosmic Order, the
Best of all is given to us. VII
Please, do
tell me this, that I may
know it with Your
Good Mind, as it
speaks within
me, and that I may
ponder that,
to which these
Truths belong.
VIII
Ahura Mazda, through His
Understanding, is the
Creator of the
Cosmic Order.
IX
He supports,
likewise, His
beneficent Mind in His
Ashavans.
X
And these
followers of
ASHA : may You
cause that they will
prosper by Your
Spirit,
since, O
Ahura Mazda ! they are
Your Own, You Who are for every
hour the
Same !
XI
Therefore, O
Ahura Mazda,
did
I
conceive Of
You as the
First, as the
One to be
adored with the
Mind and within
all of Creation, as the One who, by means of
Sraosha and Mithra, is the protecting
Father of the
Good Mind within us !
XII
When I
beheld You with
my enlightened eyes as the Veritable
Maker of our
Cosmic Order, as the
Lord of the
actions of Life, XIII
the
Power was Yours, O
Ahura Mazda ! ; Yea,
Yours, O Creator of
Love ! was the
Understanding and the
Spirit, when
You did order a
Path, for
each of us and all !
XIV
And this
Teaching was
the first of all rules to regulate our
actions.
XV
First, O
Ahura Mazda
! You
created the
Cosmic Powers and
You
revealed the
Cosmic Laws ;
XVI
then, You
gave to
us Understanding from
Your
Own Mind ! And You
made our
bodily life,
so that, thus,
You did
determine all of
our
actions by Your
Power.
XVII
Yea, I would
ask
You even a
thing
like this : how such a one as
he, who, with
wise action, has striven to
promote Your
Good
Law, over
house, and
region, and
province, according to Your
Cosmic Order and in
Truth, how he may
become One
like
You, O
You Great
Creator ! XVIII
And which of the
Teachings is the greater ?
XIX
Let the
enlightened alone
speak to the
enlightened.
XX
Let not the
ignorant further
deceive
us, high
though he may 
lift his voice. XXI
Do
Yourself, O
Ahura Mazda !
declare to
us Your full
Truth as pure
revelation
of Your
Good Mind.
XXII
Listen, you all, to
Him,
Who
conceived of the
Cosmic Order for the
Worlds, the
All-Wise One,
O
Mazda Ahura !
XXIII
He it is, Who will
give both
universal weal and
immortality in the
fullness of His
Cosmic Order, and from
Himself as
the Head of
Dominion within [the spirit of] His
Ashavans.
XXIV
And
He will
likewise give the vigorous
might of His
Good Mind unto
him who, in
Spirit and in
Deeds, is
His
friend.
XXV
Verily, unto the truly
wise these things will already
be
clear.
XXVI
And with Your
Good Mind, and in Your
Holy Kingdom,
he is following the
Cosmic Order, both in his
Words and in his
Actions.
XXVII
And to
You, O
Ahura Mazda !
such a
man shall be the most
helpful and
vigorous
being, for he
is serving with all of Your
Powers !
