YAST XXII : the VISTASP YAST
To the
King,
and as a result of
his righteousness :
also to his child
and
Queen :
I
"Yea, do
converse with
the
Ahuras,"
said
Zarathustra to
the young
King, Vistaspa :
II
"Men with
lustful deeds do
address the
body ; but
you
O King,
address
the heavenly Wisdom, all the
night long
- but
you, O
ruler, are
calling for the
Wisdom
that will keep you
(spiritually) awake*
all
night
long ! III
May the
Ahuras
impart to
you
their
brightness, and
glory and
plenty !
*Aware.
[To the Royal Infant of King Vistasp:]
IV
Of
you, O child,
I will cleanse the
birth and
the
growth
!
[To the Queen of King Vistasp:]
V
Of
you, O
woman, I
will make your
body and
your
strength pure ; I will make
you into a
woman
rich in
children and rich in
milk - a
woman rich in
seed : in
milk and in
offspring.
VI
For
you I shall
make
springs
run and make
them flow towards the
pastures that will give
food to the
child : this
is the
food
of Good
Thoughts, of good
Words, of good
Deeds,
of
good
