Studying with the Angels of the Day and of the Night
What is described below might sound a little strange and rather unhealthy without some more explanation of what is actually meant, and what used to be practice in the "Old Times" when studying a subject. "Not sleeping" can not be seen as very good for health. Look also at the introduction to Fargard 18, which is about the same subject!
What is actually meant by studying all around the clock, is the method of studying, as also used by the Zarathustrian teachers at Mount Carmel (the so-called "Essenes"), who had to live outside the borders of Persia, because since the death of the original Zarathustra (Spitama), his teaching was forbidden, and the priests took over again, persecuting those of the original faith, putting their own corrupted version of the teaching instead op the Pure Religion, adding bloody sacrifices of animals again, and changing back the preparation of the "Haoma", to the old intoxicating version which Zarathustra Spitama had tried to get rid of.
Method of studying the primal Forces by means of a Weekly round of Meditations
Looking at the chessboard of ASHA, one will see the
front row of forces that are active in matter: those were used, one for each day
(except Food, which was actually meditated on briefly, before
each meal, and Man, who was remember in I am that I am on Friday Night),
to meditate on every day of the week, while each of the Amesha Spentas or
Archangels (on the back row) was used for one of the
evening meditations preceding the night's sleep; only the Preserver of the
back row was meditated upon on Saturday-morning. If you are interested in doing
this too, just click on the link below to see how the "Essenes"
(Nazarene Zarathustrian Gabaran or "Gabriëli" from the school at mount Carmel)
did it :
| THE ESSENE COMMUNIONS WITH THE ANGELS |
they added a meditation upon Peace for each mid-day, which you can find on the same site:

What is important, is that students of the Zend Avesta used to study physically during the daytime, but before they went to sleep they made sure to always meditate exclusively on some positive subject, and this made it possible for them to receive further enlightenment during sleep, in a dream, by Sraosha (and the angels and Fravashis serving Her), who was seen as the one listening to all prayers, and sending instruction and inspiration from Ahura Mazda down to the Ashavan (student of the One Law: Asha). So be certain not to loose physical sleep by taking these texts too seriously without really understanding what was meant!
