The cilinderrace principle. Marcel Bourgondien (Dutch Open Champion 2007) has designed a whole new concept of (winch) competition tasks. He came up with the idea because he, and many others with him, believes that a traditional winch-based paragliding competition is to much influenced by the 'luck-factor'. One of the things that contribute to this 'luck-factor' is that most taskprinciples (like Race-to-Goal or Open distance) are excellent in mountaincomps, but are less suitable in our winchcompetitions. We as organisers of the DOFC are convinced that this principle will work. Allthough not all questions are answerd yet, we are confident enough to anounce that this principle, with high probability, will be the task principle of the DOFC this year. Read all about the Cilinderrace principle in this document. Due to some minor problems the concept is still in Dutch only! I expect to publish the English version within the next few days. |
