1. This tutorial explains how to create a simple blade. Of course, as usual, this is just a good base for any picture, things like blood, scratches and other stuff you will have to add on your own (which is the most fun). |

2. Create a new layer. Set foreground color to R: 238; G:238; B: 238; HEX: EEEEEE;. Set background color to R: 64; G: 65; B: 65; HEX: 404141;. Make a rectangular selection using the Rectangular Marquee tool as shown in the picture. Using the Linear Gradient tool create a gradient from the top to the bottom of selection. |

3. Create anotherlayer. Make a rectangular selection using the Rectangular Marquee tool as shown in the picture (half the height). Switch the foreground and background colors (press 'X'). Using the Linear Gradient tool create a gradient from the top to the bottom of selection. |

4. Set the blend mode of the new layer to Screen. |
