1. This tutorial explains how to create such a common thing as a push pin. |

2. Create a new layer. Using the Elliptical Marquee¹ and make a medium size circle selection (hold the Shift key for a perfect circle). Set light gray R: 230; G: 230; B: 230; HEX: E6E6E6; as the foreground color. Fill the selection using the Paint Bucket¹ tool. |

3. Apply Outer Glow layer effect (Layer > Effects > Outer Glow) to the layer. Set all the values as shown in the picture. |

4. Apply Bevel and Emboss layer effect (Layer > Effects > Bevel and Emboss) to the layer. Set all the values as shown in the picture. |

5. Create a new layer. Using the Elliptical Marquee¹ tool make another circle selection smaller in size than the first one. Shift it to the right and top. Fill the selection with the foreground color using the Paint Bucket¹ tool. |

6. Apply Outer Glow layer effect (Layer > Effects > Outer Glow) to the small circle layer. Set all the values as shown in the picture. |

7. Apply Bevel and Emboss layer effect (Layer > Effects > Bevel and Emboss) to the small circle layer. Set all the values as shown in the picture. |

8. Create a layer between the small circle layer and the big circle layers. Group² it with the big circle layer. Load selection² from the layer with the small circle. |

9. In the main menu select Select > Feather. Set Radius value to 3 and click OK. Fill the selection with white using the Paint Bucket¹ tool. Shift the layer 2 pixels down and left. |

10. Done! A little touch like a shadow would give it better look, but it's not necessary. |
