Thin Wires

1. Creating a high-tech interface most likely will require you to have some small wires on it. This tutorial explains how to create these wires. |

2. Create a new layer. Select the Paintbrush tool and set its Opacity to 100% and and its size brush to three pixel. Set foreground color to the color you want your wires to be. Now, draw a couple of wires. Do not draw straight wires because this won't allow you to see the 3D effect very well. |

3. Load selection from the wires layer. Create a new layer. Offset the selection one pixel up and left. Fill the selection with white using the Paint Bucket tool. Set Blending Mode to Color Dodge. |

4. To give wires bending effect, use the Airbrush tool with a soft brush. Create a new layer and set its mode to Soft Light. Paint with black to give pieces of the wire a depressed look. Create another layer and set its mode to Color Dodge. Paint with white to give pieces of the wire a raised look. |
