Original clefs / modern clefs (top) The original
clefs include 6 clefs and 3 octavations (maybe to be considered as 5
clefs and 4 octavations): -
treble clef (G2, to be played an octave lower
than written); -
treble clef (G2 with two extra dots at the
clef, to be played as written); -
soprano clef (C1); -
alto clef (C3) with octava alta sections; -
tenor clef (C4) with octava alta sections and -
bass clef (F4) with octava alta sections. This modern
clefs edition reduces these 6 clefs and 3 octavations to only 3 more
common clefs: -
treble clef (G2, to be played as written); -
tenor clef (C4) and -
bass (F4) clef. In the editorial
notes the original clefs and octavations have been specified. |
