Regionfree solution for Philips home DVD players Firmware releases 5.55, 6.20 and 7.03 consist of 2 files
(for example release 6.20):
06200001.015 -> Approx size 2 Mb Characters from 2 to 5 of the first file name are the
release code (6.20). To make the disc readable by the player we must
change the release code to a higher version. 07040001.015
The second file contains only the first file's name. 06200001.015
...which will be renamed into:
07040001.015
....and the file will bew saved.
Now you can burn an ISO mode 2 CD with this files and
you will have your firmware downgraded to 6.20
I have tested it. I think it's a good way to get rid of
the 7.03 firmware and make the player easily hackable... If you have any questions about downgrading your
firmware, do not ask me. Go to the
Region
Patches Forum instead and ask your question there!
