The 6th
World Puzzle Championship was held in Koprivnica, and was won by Wei-Hwa
Huang (USA). Best team was the team of the Czech Republic.

Because
the Netherlands were hosting the WPC in 1996, the organizing committee
canceled the 1997 Dutch National round. A mixed team of puzzlesolvers and
puzzlemakers competed that year in Croatia.
