Welcome to my koisite.

Since two years I am completely mad about koi. Yes the virus got me too!!!! Like probably many of you I started out with a pond with some goldfish and plants in it. The first year I came at a local fishdealer and saw this amazing big white fish and that's where it all began. It was a Doitsu Platinum Ogon with good shape and about 25 cm and as soon as you came close to the pond it immediately draw the attention and soon I was hooked. That same year I bought 3 other koi a Yamabuki Ogon, a Tancho-Sanke and a Hi-Utsuri. Last year I gave all my goldfish a good new home at a friend and started to keep only koi in my pond. Down here you see a picture of my fish.

As you probably can see I have 10 koi in my pond and they grow very well. I will be building a new bigger pond this year cause my filter wasn't sufficient anymore and the koi were getting to big as they are now in a pond of 4000 liter, so they could use some space. I have room to build a pond of approximately 20000 liter ( filter of 1750 liter included) which will accommodate 15 bigger koi and 2 or 3 smaller koi to experiment with  and see how they develop.

Once you start keeping koi you should be aware of the fact that it will be come an addiction!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WARNED YOU!!!!!!!

And once u have a koipond and u get interested in other japanese stuff , there comes a time that u wonder what your name looks like in japanese. Translating is very difficult cause japanese is a fonetic language and is translated by sound. So there are a lot of possibilties and ways to translate it. Down here u find my name in japanese Kanji
