Tom & Jerry in Madagascar
This is the diary of a trip to Madagascar in 2003 by Tom de Neef and Emile Gevers. There is also a Dutch version.
We had booked only the international flights to and from the island. Everyting else we arranged locally. From the Bradt guide we got the impression that a tent would be needed for staying in the national parks. But the Lonely Planet guide convinced us that that would not be necessary. Hence, tent and burner stayed home and we traveled with a minimum of luggage.
The only warning we have for those following in our steps: bring enough cash (euro's or dollars) and do not rely on your credit cards.
We have very good experience with the following operators:
Gasikara Viaggi
Tours (from Tana southwards)
King de la Piste (in the north)
