Bienvenidos,
Welcome!

On this page I will tell you about my
trip to Mexico. If you want to
know something of this beautiful country or if you want to visit
it then read here all about it! You will find here my impression
and pictures and also links to various pages about Mexico.

Mexico, country of
the three cultures, a country between the Pacific ocean and the
Gulf of Mexico is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations
of the world.
On the plateau was the beginning. There the first
people lived in the Mexican prehistory; there was the cultivation
of maiz; there arose Teotihuacán, the
"city of the gods", and started the Spanish invasion.

Wide avenida's with beautiful Spanish buildings
and between modern office-buildings, extensive parks, churches
and palaces from the colonial time. The city is located on a 2240
meters high plateau, surrounded by mountains and vulcan's Popocátepetl
and Iztaccihuatl, both more than 5000
meters high.
Mexico-city
is one of the biggest cities of the world with more then 20
million people.

Except the submerged foundations of the Templo
Mayor there is nothing more left from the
Aztec City Tenochtitlán. After the
conquest from the Indian capital in 1521, Hernán Cortés let
everything pull down to build his Ciudad de México, the
capital of "New Spain".
In this city you will always see a lot of people
and not only on peak hour. Then the 50 kilometres long north-south
axis, the Insurgentes, will be
overwhelmed by cars. You can not describe a ride by metro on
eight o'clock in the morning and five o'clock in the afternoon.
You get in or you will be pushing in. But the metro is the
quickest and saved way of transportation. And also it is cheap, a
ride will cost you 1.50 New Mexican Peso or $0.20.
Also you can take a cab.

In Mexico-city you will
find many historical buildings and places. One of them is Tlatelolco,
and especially the Plaza de las Tres
Culturas (Plaza of the Three Cultures) synthesizes
like no other place, the history of Mexico.

They built almost 30 years on the Palacio
de Bellas Artes and was opened in 1934. Inside the
building the walls are decorated with paintings from Orozco,
Rivera and Siqueiros.

Before you go to the archaeological places you
must bring a visit to biggest, the most important and the most
beautiful museum of the country; Museo de
Antropologia. By the entrance you will be welcomed
by the eight meters high monolith of the rain-god Tlaloc.
