Museums on the internet: ad a link by yourself

Under here follows a list with links of museums on the internet. In general these are beautifully designed websites, with a survey of the collection of the museum, often with an explication on it. Below Hints you can see how often the visitors of this website followed a link.

If you know a link to a museum on the internet by yourself, please do not hesitate to add this link. This is quite easily done by clicking on the text Add Your Own Link and typing subsequently the complete address (with the characters http:// before it). Thank you very much in advance!

My own favorite museums on the internet

You will find an overview of links to museums of approximately all countries of the world on Virtual Library museums pages (VLmp). Dutch museums may be found on museum.pagina.nl.

Here are the links to some (other) interesting museum on the internet:

v      www.katwijksmuseum.nl (the multilingual website of the Katwijks Museum, a museum in the Dutch coastal village Katwijk)

v      www.lakenhal.nl (the website of the Stedelijk Museum De Lakenhal, the urban museum of the Dutch city Leiden)

v      www.rmo.nl (the website of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, the museum of antiquities in Leiden)

v      www.mesdag.nl (de website of Panorama Mesdag in The Hague)

v      www.rijksmuseum.nl (the site of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, with an extended explanation on the collection)

v      www.britishmuseum.org (the British Museum; a beautiful website, but quite slow)

v      www.louvre.fr (the website of the Louvre in Paris; very beautiful and extended; in this museum are a lot of famous old masters, in particular also Dutch ones)

v      www.museodelprado.es (the website of the enormous Prado-museum in Madrid; in this museum are quite a lot of Dutch masters as well)

v      www.hermitagemuseum.org (the splendid website of the Hermitage in Saint-Petersburg, with since 2009 also a branch in Amsterdam)
