Some background information
The program for producing this music commenced as a handy Basic tool for judging the sound of different non-equal temperaments, but quickly evolved into a useful FM-synthesis sound card driver, capable of eight-note polyphony and handling many niceties of conventional staff-notation.
The hardware used are a Sound Blaster 16 Value CT2770 OPL3 audio board supplying the instrument body and an SB 1.0 CT1320 (OPL2) for added harmonic depth, both mounted in a Pentium 75. All are genuine antiques.
It's no use downloading the little FM-synthesis demonstration pack included here, when your system isn't equipped with a compatible sound card. But even if it is, probably no sounds are produced. Try adjusting the settings of the all-important FMseqr.ini-file: choose the right ports and try a (longer) SBDelayTime that suits your (faster) machine. Or delve into the amply annotated code and customize. Play on and Have fun.
